Consultation on the proposed admission arrangements for 2027

The Local Governing Body of Monkston Primary School is currently consulting on the proposed admission arrangements for September 2027.

The proposed updates to the policy are set out on the front page of the consultation document which can be viewed here: Monkston Primary School Proposed 2027 Admission arrangements - consultation. Any comments on the proposed 2027 admission arrangements should be sent, via email, to the Clerk to the Local Governing Body at [email protected]. Alternatively, you may send your comments in writing, to the Clerk to the Local Governing Body, c/o Monkston Primary School, Wadhurst Lane, Monkston, Milton Keynes, MK10 9LA.

The consultation opens on Monday, 13^th October 2025 and closes at midday on Friday, 28^th November 2025 and written comments must be received by this time.

Children Starting School for the First Time - September 2026

The Local Authority co-ordinates the application process for children starting school for the first time. (Applications will not be accepted at the school). Further information can be found on Milton Keynes City Council website:

This is for Children born between 1^st September 2021 and 31^st August 2022.

The deadline for applications was the 15th January 2026.

National Offer Day is 16th April 2026.

The defined area for Monkston Primary School is Kingston, Monkston and Monkston Park.

Monkston and Monkston Park is shared with Oakgrove Primary School

In year KET Primary Application 2025-26

The application form is an editable PDF. Save the form to the device you are using, then complete the form and press save. The completed form should be emailed with the supporting documentation to [email protected] .

The school is currently full in year 2 (year 3 September 2025) to year 5 (year 6 September 2025), so a turn down letter will initially be sent out if you are applying these year groups and your children will be placed on the waiting list for September 2025. This builds the waiting lists for each year group for September.

Once the school has returned from the school holidays in September then should there be any vacancies in the year group places will be offered to the top of the waiting list.

Monkston Primary School maintains a waiting list throughout the academic year. The waiting list will be ranked in accordance with the over-subscription criteria and length of time on the list will not be a factor in offering a place. This means that children will move up and down the list as other children are or removed. Being on the waiting list does not guarantee a place at the school. Waiting lists close at the end of the academic year.

If you are seeking a place for year R, 1 or 2 (September 2025) there are currently places. For year 1 & 2 (September 2025) please complete the in year application form and return with the supporting documentation. For year R (September 2025) please contact the Milton Keynes City Council – Education Access team to apply for a school place.

Admission arrangements for September 2026

Monkston Primary School consulted on the proposed 2026 admission arrangements between 4th November and 13th December 2024. There were no proposed updates and no comments were received. The Local Governing Body determined the 2026 admission arrangements, as set out in the consultation, on 16th December 2024.
