Rabbits and Hedgehogs
What a fun first half term we have had in reception. This term we have been learning all about ourselves in our theme 'All about me'. We have been getting to know each other and our new routines. The children loved looking at pictures of themselves as a baby and as a toddler and talking about how they have changed. We have used socks to measure ourselves and created self portraits using a range of materials.
The children have also enjoyed learning about autumn. They have explored pumpkins and have been working on their fine motor skills by carefully pressing golf tees into the pumpkins creating interesting patterns. We have used fallen leaves to create letters, homes for animals and art work. The children have used conkers for counting, painting and making snails with clay.
