Important information for Year 2

Important Days/Things To Remember

 

Monday - Hand in reading diaries and change reading books

Tuesday - PE. Wear your PE kit to school. 

Wednesday - 

Thursday - Change reading books

Friday - Spell check and new spellings sent home. Optional reading homework is also sent home.

 

This year, children do not need to bring in pencil cases.

 

 

Reading at Home - Organisation and Expectations

 

Children in Year 2 might bring home either a Read, Write, Inc Book Bag Book or colour-banded book. This will depend on their phonetic ability. 

All children are expected to read out loud to an adult or older sibling at least 4 times a week. Children who read 4 times a week, and have their reading diary signed by an adult/older sibling, will earn a Monkston point. 

All children are expected to read each book they bring home twice before they change it.
