Timeline for Admission Appeals for Year R – September 2020
Following national offer day of 16th April 2020, if you named Monkston Primary School as one of your preferences and were unsuccessful, you have a right to appeal against the decision to an independent appeal panel.
The appeals timetable* for Monkston Primary School for students starting school in Year R in September 2020 will be as follows:
Monday, 18th May 2020 at 3pm Deadline to request an appeal form
Wednesday, 20th May 2020 at 3pm Deadline to lodge an appeal**
Week Commencing 15th June 2020 Appeal hearings will be held during this week. Appellants will be advised as to precise day and time by the clerk.
Should you wish to appeal against the decision not to offer your child a place at Monkston Primary School, please email the email@example.com providing the name of the child, their date of birth and an email address where the appeal paperwork can be sent. Requests for appeal forms must be made by 3pm on Monday, 18th May 2020.
Please note the School will be closed for the Easter holidays from the end of school on Thursday 2nd April until it reopens on Monday 20th April. No appeals are processed during the school holidays.
*Please note it may not be possible to include within this timetable any appeals that are lodged after the deadline.
**This is the deadline by which the completed appeal form must be received by the Clerk to the Independent Appeal Panel.

In Year Admissions
In year admissions refer to applications made at any other time after the initial September entry into Year R.
Parents/Carers should be aware that Monkston Primary School is an oversubscribed school with more applicants than places available. Please note that when a place does become available it is allocated strictly in accordance with the school’s admissions criteria. Applications for an in year admission should be made on the Monkston Primary School application form.
In light of current situation with Covid-19, the ‘Current School’ page does not need to be completed as part of the initial application. We will ask for it to be completed and submitted at a later date.
To complete on a phone/tablet/computer, you will need to save it on to the device, complete the form and then save the completed form. The form may then be emailed with any other attachments to: firstname.lastname@example.org
