Caterpillar update

It has been an eventful week in the Loy house this week. All 5 caterpillars emerges as butterflies over 3 days. The first 3 emerged on Monday, the 4th on Tuesday and the last one finally made it on Wednesday. They were fed slices of apple with drops of sugar water until they were strong enough to fly. As their wings became stronger, they really did make a surprising amount of noise for something so small. 

We released them on Thursday and plan to do this again next year.
