The Friends of Monkston Primary School are a group of parents with children attending Monkston Primary School and who volunteer to organise fund-raising activities and events.

Our aim is to raise money for the school so that, with guidance from them, we can purchase additional resources for our children. Whilst doing this we feel that we are also providing a channel to help bring parents and the school closer together.

In order to achieve our goals of both raising money and helping enhance our local community we regularly organise events both during and after the school day. For the children, we organise events such as Hot Dog Lunches and School Discos. However additional events held last year included an Indulgence evening, recycling collections of clothes, Kids on the Catwalk fashion show, design/production of coasters and placemats, and we once again held a very successful Summer Fayre last July.

All the money raised by these events has gone directly to the school. We can be proud to state that funds raised last academic year have put to good use in the following ways:

1) £2,500 worth of stage lighting
2) £2000 to help roll out the Computer Laptop Scheme for Year 4
3) £2000 to improve the school’s outdoor play equipment, by providing another wooden trail (yet to be installed).

All The Friends of Monkston Primary School give up their time and expertise as volunteers. The committee meets once a term and although you don't have to be on the committee to help out with any of the events, we are always pleased to welcome new members and fresh ideas.
