Key Info
Monkston Primary School is a community school proud to be part of the developing area of Monkston and Monkston Park.

The school first opened in September 2001 as Monkston Combined School. In September 2005 we became known as Monkston Primary School. With 420 places, two classes in each year group, we have a range of facilities each designed to promote quality learning for all children.

Inside the school we have specialist rooms for food technology, art & technology, science, expressive arts and ICT as well as an attractive library and good size hall. Outside, the school curriculum is supported by a large playing field and areas for outdoor science including a pond and gardening plots.

We also boast a living 'Sedum' roof which changes colour with the seasons.

Our school thistle logo, seen at the top of this page, originates from the old field name for where the school is now built. Local historical records show this field as 'Thistley Field'.

The school serves the grid squares of Monkston, Monkston Park and Kingston.

'The school provides a very safe and secure environment' OFSTED
